The Lady wolves have been extremely successful so far this season and nothing seems can slow them down. So far this season they are 10-2  with only 1 loss in league play. Their only non-league loss came from the 3A Bonney Lake nearly a month ago.

When the Lady Wolves get rolling, get out of the way because you may be able to slow them down, but you can’t stop them. The Wolves are are lead by their exceptional mid-field which uses an assortment of players from the team, but the starters consist of Sydney Lowe, Catherine Taylor, and Bella Brown. They have consistently been the anchor for the team and have led the Lady Wolves to a 10-2-0 record thus far.

Before this season the Lady Wolves had no clue who goalie for the 2016 season would be. After losing goalie Jordan Westby last season to graduation, the team was looking for a new goalkeeper to solidify the Lady Wolves defense. All throughout tryouts the job was for the taking. Two weeks before the first game of the season Devin Herbert (freshman) decided to stop playing Volleyball and join the Lady Wolves. Devin came out, and the rest was history. The Wolves had found their goalie. “Devin has been a lethal force on our defensive line and without her we would not have the record that we currently hold and or the shutouts.” “ Being a midfielder, it’s nice having a defensive line as a second line of defense, but since Devin is the last line of defense it is reassuring to know that she can save just about any type of ball.” said senior Taylor. This past week Devin was awarded Eli Sports Network player of the game for her defensive effectiveness vs the Tumwater Thunderbirds this past Tuesday.

To finish out the season the Lady Wolves have 4 league games left on the schedule. This upcoming week they face off with their league opponents from Grays Harbor, the Aberdeen Bobcats who are hoping to make a late season run to make the 2a playoffs.

Because of all the success that the Lady Wolves had last season and this season they have positioned themselves as one of the top programs in the area if not the state. The post season is right around the corner and the Wolves are looking to regain the number one spot in the league play. The last match between the teams ended with a score of 4-3. But don’t let the score fool you. This was a defensive effort by both teams. No points were scored in regular time and the only points that were scored were in penalty

kicks and sudden death. The Tumwater Thunderbirds sneaked away with a win in the last contest with the Wolves but this upcoming game could go either way. should expect an excitement packed game with defense between the teams being a focal point. The Wolves will have a tough road to the number one seed in the league because of a point differential the Wolves will have to beat the T-birds by 2 points to be crowned league champs.
